Quinta do Poço do Lobo
Quinta do Poço do Lobo Baga and Pinot Noir Sparkling
Pickup currently not available
Quinta do Poço do Lobo Baga and Pinot Noir Sparkling is a Portuguese sparkling wine (espumante) from Bairrada, made from the local Baga grape and Pinot Noir at the estate of Caves São João. Bairrada is Portugal's home of fine bubbles, and this is a lovely bottle to open when you want something with more character than an everyday fizz.
Tasting notes
Baga from Bairrada is known for its bright acidity and red-fruit notes, and Pinot Noir adds finesse and roundness. In traditional-method sparkling wines, the time on the lees brings toasty, buttery notes and a creamy mousse. Expect a fresh attack, red fruit, a fine texture and good length.
Food pairing
The classic match is leitão à Bairrada, the region's crisp roast suckling pig. It also loves salgadinhos, fried seafood, sushi and grilled prawns.
