Viúva Gomes
Viúva Gomes Viticultores Red 2022
Viúva Gomes Viticultores Red 2022 is a light Portuguese red wine from the Lisbon region, a field blend of Castelão, Ramisco and Touriga Nacional made by Viúva Gomes of Colares. It is a juicy, easy red that takes a light chill, the kind of bottle you open for a long lunch.
Tasting notes
Fresh forest fruit, red berries and moderate tannins. The grapes come from three plots outside the Colares sands and are hand-picked into 18 kg boxes. Fermentation is spontaneous, in stainless steel, with five days on the skins, then the wine rests ten months in chestnut and mahogany barrels.
Food pairing
Try it with pica-pau and other fried petiscos, frango assado, a slow-braised pork dish, or game such as partridge.
About Viúva Gomes
