Quinta do Perdigão Noel Sparkling 2024

Quinta do Perdigão Noel Sparkling 2024 is a Portuguese sparkling wine from the Dão, made by a family estate in Silgueiros, near Viseu. The estate presents its Noel Perdigão sparkling as a Touriga Nacional from ungrafted vines (pé franco), a rare thing in Europe.

Tasting notes

Dão grapes keep a firm, fresh acidity thanks to the region's granite soils and cool nights, which suits sparkling wine well. A sparkling Touriga Nacional usually shows red fruit and floral notes, with a crisp, dry finish.

Food pairing

Open it with leitão (roast suckling pig), the classic match in central Portugal, or with croquetes, fried shrimp or a cheese board.
