Quinta do Olival da Murta Serra Oca Orange Wine 2023

Serra Oca Orange 2023 is a skin-contact white, an orange wine, from Quinta do Olival da Murta in the Lisboa wine region of Portugal. Fermenting white grapes on their skins, as you would a red, gives colour, a little tannin and a lot of aroma. If you are curious about Portuguese orange wine, this is a great place to start.

Tasting notes

Orange wines from the Lisboa region tend to show an amber colour, orange peel, dried apricot, herbs and a dry, grippy finish with fresh acidity. Let it warm slightly in the glass and the aromas open up.

Food pairing

Try it with spiced dishes such as a chicken curry or Goan-style prawns, roasted pumpkin with herbs, grilled pork ribs, or a board of strong cured cheeses.
