Quinta do Mouro Zagalos Reserva Red 2019

Zagalos Reserva 2019 is an Alentejo red wine from Quinta do Mouro, the Estremoz estate of Miguel Louro, labelled Vinho Regional Alentejano. It gives you the warmth and dark fruit of the Alentejo with more freshness than you might expect, which makes it easy to pour with food.

Tasting notes

The Zagalos Reserva is a blend that has drawn on Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged about a year in French and Portuguese oak. Look for black fruit, roasted notes, cocoa and tobacco, with a hint of clove. The palate is juicy, the tannins ripe and the finish long.

Food pairing

Serve it with Alentejo black pork, migas with pork ribs, lamb stew with coriander, or a hard sheep cheese from Évora.

About Quinta do Mouro

Quinta do Mouro sits in Estremoz around an 18th century house that once belonged to the Zagalo family, which gives this wine its name. Miguel Louro bought the estate in 1979 and started making wine there in the 1980s.
