Quinta das Bageiras Reserva Red

Quinta das Bageiras Reserva Red is a Portuguese red wine from Bairrada, made by Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno from Baga with some Touriga Nacional. Bairrada reds are some of the most food-friendly wines in Portugal, and Bageiras is one of the region's reference houses. This Reserva gives you that classic style at an honest price.

Tasting notes

Baga from Bairrada is known for sour cherry and red plum fruit, firm tannins and lively acidity, with earthy, smoky notes as it ages. At Bageiras the grapes are picked by hand and the reds ferment with wild yeasts in traditional lagares, which keeps the wine fresh and true to its place.

Food pairing

Bairrada means leitão, the region's roast suckling pig, and this is the wine for it. It also works with chanfana, grilled lamb chops or a mature Serra cheese.

About Quinta das Bageiras

Mário Sérgio founded Quinta das Bageiras in 1989 with 12 hectares of vines inherited from his grandfather. The estate now farms 28 hectares across 10 plots in Bairrada.
