Portugal in Tube
Portugal in Tube Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal (Tasting Tube)
This Portugal in Tube Moscatel Roxo is a sweet Portuguese fortified wine from the Setúbal Peninsula, south of Lisbon, made from the rare Moscatel Roxo grape and sold in a small glass tasting tube. It is an easy way to try one of Portugal's rarest dessert wines, or a small gift that fits in a pocket.
Tasting notes
Moscatel Roxo is the pink-skinned cousin of Moscatel de Setúbal, grown on very few hectares. Wines from it are known for a copper colour, orange peel, dried apricot, honey and spice, with a richer, slightly more exotic profile than the classic Moscatel.
Food pairing
Sip it with pastéis de nata, a slice of pão de ló, a blue cheese, or dark chocolate with orange.
