This Portugal in Tube Moscatel de Setúbal Superior is a 10 year old sweet Portuguese fortified wine from the Setúbal Peninsula, south of Lisbon, made from Moscatel grapes and sold in a small glass tasting tube. It lets you taste an aged Moscatel, the great dessert wine of the Lisbon area, without opening a full bottle.

Tasting notes

Moscatel de Setúbal is fortified early and left in contact with the grape skins, which gives intense aromas. After about ten years in cask, these wines typically turn amber and show orange peel, dried apricot, honey, raisins and toasted nuts, with a long, warm finish.

Food pairing

Try it with pastéis de nata, queijadas, crème brûlée, or a creamy Azeitão cheese, made in the same peninsula.
