PGA Extra Brut Rosé Sparkling

PGA Extra Brut Rosé is a Portuguese sparkling rosé, an espumante made in the extra brut style, from the Duvas de Arruda range. Very dry and refreshing, it is a pink fizz for people who do not like sweet bubbles, and a smart way to start a meal.

Tasting notes

Extra brut means very little sugar is added after the second fermentation, at most 6 grams per litre, so the wine tastes crisp and clean. Sparkling rosés in this style usually show red berries such as strawberry and redcurrant, a fine mousse and a dry, mouth-watering finish.

Food pairing

Pour it with oysters, prawns, salmon tartare or sushi. It is also lovely with a plate of presunto and melon, or with a strawberry dessert that is not too sweet.

Extra brut sits between brut and brut nature on the dryness scale. With so little added sugar, the quality of the base wine and the freshness of the fruit show through clearly.

• Serve at 6-8 °C. With a sparkling wine stopper it keeps 1 to 2 days in the fridge.
