Insula
Insula Chão de Lava White
Pickup currently not available
Insula Chão de Lava White is a dry Portuguese white wine from the Azores, the volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic. Its name means "lava ground", a nod to the black basalt soils where Azores vines grow, and it is a great way to discover island wine.
Tasting notes
Azores whites are known for high acidity, citrus fruit and a salty, mineral finish shaped by the ocean and the volcanic rock. Expect a crisp, fresh white with lemon, green apple and a clean, saline edge.
Food pairing
Try it with grilled fish, garlic prawns, octopus salad, or a slice of young São Jorge cheese.
About Insula
Insula is an Azores wine label, from the volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic. Azores vineyards are often planted in black basalt rock, inside small stone-walled plots called currais that protect the vines from wind and salt spray.
