Herdade do Portocarro
Herdade do Portocarro Tears of Anima Rosé
Pickup currently not available
Tears of Anima Rosé is a Portuguese rosé wine from Herdade do Portocarro, an estate in the Península de Setúbal, just south of Lisbon. It is a rosé with backbone, made for the table as much as for the terrace, and a good way to discover a region most people only know for its sweet Moscatel.
Tasting notes
Bright and lively, with fresh acidity carrying red fruit and a fine, lingering finish. It has more grip and length than a simple poolside rosé, so it holds its own with food. Tasting notes vary a little from one bottling to the next.
Food pairing
The producer suggests grilled fish with roast potatoes. We also like it with salmonetes grelhados, a tomato and octopus salad, or Setúbal's famous choco frito, fried cuttlefish.
About Herdade do Portocarro
Herdade do Portocarro makes its wines in the Península de Setúbal, the region across the Tagus from Lisbon. Alongside this rosé, the estate makes Cavalo Maluco, an oak-aged red blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Petit Verdot.
