Gorreana Green Tea with Pineapple and Ceylon Cinnamon, Loose Leaf is a Portuguese green tea with pineapple and Ceylon cinnamon, in loose leaf, from São Miguel, in the Azores, made by Gorreana, the oldest tea plantation in Europe still in production. A cosy, fruity cup with a gentle spice, and loose leaves for a fuller aroma.

Tasting notes

Gorreana green tea is typically gentle and fresh, with grassy, lightly sweet notes and very little bitterness. Pineapple brings a juicy, tropical sweetness, and Ceylon cinnamon, the most delicate of the cinnamons, adds a soft, warm spice.

Food pairing

Lovely with arroz doce, a pastel de nata dusted with cinnamon or a slice of apple cake.

About Gorreana

Founded in 1883 on the north coast of São Miguel, Gorreana is the oldest tea plantation in Europe still in production. Its tea grows on volcanic soil, without herbicides, pesticides or fungicides, and the estate handles every step from leaf to packet.

Good to know

• Brew with water at about 80 °C for 2 to 3 minutes.
• Loose leaf tea. Use about one teaspoon per cup. Keep it closed, dry and away from light and strong smells.
• A lovely little gift from the Azores.
