Domínio do Açor Red 2021

Domínio do Açor Red 2021 is a Dão red wine from a young estate in Oliveira do Conde, made with winemaker Luís Lopes. If you like reds that are fresh and fine rather than heavy, the Dão is the Portuguese region to explore, and this estate is one of its new voices.

Tasting notes

Dão reds are usually built on Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz and Jaen, grown on granite at altitude. They are known for red and black cherry fruit, a floral side, firm but fine tannins and a fresh finish. The estate works its vineyard in small blocks to keep that precision.

Food pairing

Serve it with roast kid, Bairrada-style suckling pig, a mushroom risotto, or grilled lamb chops.

About Domínio do Açor

Domínio do Açor farms 11 hectares in eight blocks in Oliveira do Conde, in the Dão. A group of Brazilian wine lovers led by sommelier Guilherme Corrêa owns the project, and Luís Lopes makes the wines.
