Convento dos Cardaes Blackberry Jam 250 ml is a Portuguese blackberry jam from Lisbon, from the 17th century Convento dos Cardaes. The taste of late summer hedgerows, in a jar for your breakfast table.

Flavour and texture

Blackberry jam is deep purple, intensely fruity, with a tangy edge and the little crunch of seeds. Sweet, but with real character.

Food pairing

Spread it on warm toast or pancakes, swirl it into yogurt, or serve it with a fresh goat's cheese. A ruby Port makes a fine match.

About the Convento dos Cardaes

The Convento dos Cardaes, on Rua do Século in Lisbon, was founded in 1681 for Discalced Carmelite nuns and came through the 1755 earthquake. Since the late 19th century it has been home to an institution caring for women with special needs, with the help of Dominican sisters. Its jams and biscuits are sold to support the house, so every jar does a little good.
