Conserveira de Lisboa Tricana Tuna Belly (Ventresca) in Olive Oil 400 g is a 400 g tin of tuna belly, or ventresca, in olive oil from Lisbon, under the Tricana brand of Conserveira de Lisboa. A big tin for a big table: open it for friends and let the tuna be the star.

Flavour and texture

Ventresca is the belly of the tuna, the most prized cut. It is fattier than the loin, so it is soft, tender and melting, with a rich, buttery taste that the olive oil carries well.

Food pairing

Keep it simple: on toasted bread with a drizzle of its oil, with roasted red peppers, in a salad of tomato and onion, or next to black-eyed beans. Open a structured white such as an Encruzado from the Dão.

About Tricana

Tricana is one of the three brands of Conserveira de Lisboa, alongside Minor and Prata do Mar. The house was founded in 1930 and still trades from its historic shop on Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, in Lisbon's Baixa, where its colourful paper-wrapped tins are still sold.
