Flavour and texture

Lulas recheadas is a much loved Portuguese dish. In the classic recipe, squid tubes are filled with a savoury stuffing and cooked in a sauce, so the squid turns tender and the sauce rich.

Food pairing

Warm gently and serve with white rice, boiled potatoes or crusty bread to mop up the sauce. A fresh Vinho Verde or a light red from Lisbon is a good match.

About Conserveira de Lisboa

Conserveira de Lisboa is a Lisbon conserve house founded in 1930, with its historic shop on Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, in the Baixa, a short walk from the river. It sells its fish under three brands, Tricana, Minor and Prata do Mar, in paper-wrapped tins with a retro look that has become a classic of the city's tinned fish shelves.
