Conserveira de Lisboa Minor Small Mackerel in Spicy Olive Oil is a tin of small mackerel, or cavalinha, in olive oil with chilli, from Lisbon, under the Minor brand of Conserveira de Lisboa. For a petisco with a little kick.

Flavour and texture

Cavalinha has tender, rich flesh and a full taste of the sea. The olive oil keeps it soft and the chilli brings a warm, lively heat.

Food pairing

Serve on bread with tomato and onion, with boiled potatoes, or in a bean salad. A dry rosé or a cold beer cools the spice.

About Minor

Minor is one of the three brands of Conserveira de Lisboa, alongside Tricana and Prata do Mar. The house was founded in Lisbon in 1930 and still trades from its historic shop on Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, in the Baixa, known for its paper-wrapped tins.
