Casca Wines
Cascale Síria Curtimenta Orange Wine
Pickup currently not available
Cascale Síria Curtimenta is a Portuguese orange wine from Casca Wines, made from 100% Síria grown at 650 to 690 metres in the Beira Interior. A skin-contact white with real grip and a fresh mountain finish, for anyone curious about amber wine beyond the usual names.
Tasting notes
Amber in the glass. Dried fruit, cinnamon, fig jam and fennel on the nose. The palate has volume and velvety tannins, then a clean, fresh finish. The grapes are picked by hand, fermented spontaneously with 12 days on the skins, then aged 10 months in a 225-litre barrel.
Food pairing
Try it with bacalhau à Brás, roast chicken with herbs, a spiced lentil or chickpea dish, or a cured Serra da Estrela cheese.
