Casca Wines
Casca Wines Cascale Petroleiro Palhete
Pickup currently not available
Cascale Petroleiro is a Portuguese palhete from Beira Interior, made by Casca Wines from red and white grapes fermented together. Palhete is an old Portuguese style between red and rosé, and this one has the depth to stand up to a real meal.
Tasting notes
The 2021 release drew on old local varieties such as Perrum, Aragonez, Antão Vaz and Síria, alongside Trincadeira and others. It is described as having unusually fine tannins, a generous palate that never feels heavy, and a fresh, long finish.
Food pairing
Serve it with lightly seasoned grilled beef, bitoque, grilled chouriço, or tomato rice with fish.
