Casa do Porco Preto
Casa do Porco Preto Presunto Reserva, Hand-Cut 100 g
Casa do Porco Preto Presunto Reserva is a Portuguese dry-cured ham of Alentejano black pig from the Barrancos area, in the Alentejo, hand-cut into 100 g of slices. Reserva means a longer cure, so you get more depth than an everyday ham, ready for a board with friends.
Flavour and texture
The meat is deep red and firm, the fat creamy and sweet. A longer cure brings savoury, slightly nutty notes and a lingering finish, while the black pig keeps the slices tender rather than dry.
How to enjoy it
Serve with pão alentejano, olives and a sheep's cheese. It loves an Alentejo red, a Douro red or a Bairrada sparkling, and works on a plate of melon in summer.
