Barbeito Medium Sweet Madeira

Barbeito Medium Sweet Madeira (Meio Doce) is a young, medium-sweet Portuguese fortified wine from the island of Madeira, made by the family house Barbeito. It is an easy after-dinner glass, and a friendly price to start a love story with Madeira.

Tasting notes

Medium-sweet Madeira typically shows dried fruit, raisins, caramel, walnuts and a touch of spice, with the island's lively acidity keeping the sweetness in check and the finish fresh.

Food pairing

Enjoy it with bolo de mel, queijadas, an almond tart, dried figs and walnuts, or a cured cheese at the end of the meal.

About Barbeito

Barbeito is a family house founded on Madeira in 1946 and now run by Ricardo de Freitas, grandson of the founder. It is known for its pure style: no caramel is added to colour the wines, so they keep their natural pale colour and freshness.
