Barbeito
Barbeito 10 Year Old Verdelho Madeira
Pickup currently not available
Barbeito 10 Year Old Verdelho Madeira is a medium-dry Portuguese fortified wine from the island of Madeira, made from the Verdelho grape and aged ten years in oak. Verdelho is the most versatile of the noble Madeira grapes: fresh enough for an aperitif, rich enough for the cheese course.
Tasting notes
Citrus, honey and wild flowers, carried by the bright acidity that makes Madeira so lively. No colouring is added, so what you see in the glass is the wine's own colour.
Food pairing
Try it with a liver pâté, a blue cheese such as Roquefort, roasted nuts, or a pecan or walnut tart. A small, slightly chilled glass also works well before dinner.
About Barbeito
Barbeito is a family house founded on Madeira in 1946 and now run by Ricardo de Freitas, grandson of the founder. It is known for its pure style: no caramel is added to colour the wines, so they keep their natural pale colour and freshness.
