Aconchego da Aldeia
Aconchego da Aldeia Tareco XXVI Talha Red
Pickup currently not available
Tinto do Tareco XXVI is a Portuguese talha red wine from Aconchego da Aldeia, made in clay amphorae following the old talha tradition. Talha wines have an earthy, honest character that you rarely find in modern reds, which makes this a bottle to open with friends who like wine with a story.
Tasting notes
Fermenting and resting wine in talha, large clay pots, is a tradition kept alive mainly in the Alentejo. It usually gives reds a soft, rustic texture, gentle tannins and notes of red fruit and earth rather than oak. Ask our team at the bar for their notes on this cuvée.
Food pairing
Pour it with carne de porco à alentejana, a slow cooked lamb stew, roast chestnuts with chouriço, or a cured sheep cheese.
