Zidra Prickly Pear Cider
Pickup currently not available
Zidra Prickly Pear Cider is a Portuguese fruit cider made with figo-da-índia, the prickly pear that grows wild across the south of Portugal. An original, summery bottle for curious palates and long afternoons on the terrace.
Tasting notes
Prickly pear has a delicate taste, somewhere between watermelon, pear and kiwi. In a cider it gives a fresh, juicy and gently sweet drink with soft bubbles and a clean finish. Pour it into a wide wine glass rather than a tall one, so the fruit aromas can open up.
Food pairing
Pour it with petiscos, grilled fish, a summer salad or fresh goat's cheese.
About Zidra
Zidra makes fruit ciders with a Portuguese accent, from apple to prickly pear, passion fruit and pomegranate. Cider has a long history in Portugal, especially on Madeira, where Sidra da Madeira has its own geographical indication, and a new generation of producers is bringing it back with modern, fruity styles.
