XXVI Talhas Palhete do Tareco

€21,00

Palhete do Tareco is a light Portuguese palhete wine from the Alentejo, made by XXVI Talhas from red and white grapes fermented together in a tareco, a small clay pot. Palhete is an old Portuguese style between red and rosé, and this one is fresh, bright and very easy to love.

Tasting notes

Expect an intense pink colour, fresh red fruit on the nose and a fruity, balanced palate with a light touch, at about 12% alcohol. The blend in recent vintages mixes Aragonês, Trincadeira and Tinta Grossa with the white grapes Antão Vaz, Roupeiro and Diagalves.

Food pairing

Try it lightly chilled with petiscos: chouriço, cheese, olives and pica-pau. It also suits grilled sardines and chicken.

About XXVI Talhas

XXVI Talhas works with the clay talhas of the Alentejo, the region's ancient way of making wine. Grapes are picked by hand and partly destemmed, and for this wine the must ferments in a tareco with the skins of both colours.
