Villa Oeiras Carcavelos Colheita 2014, in a gift box, is a Portuguese fortified wine from Carcavelos, a tiny historic region on the coast west of Lisbon, from the 2014 harvest. A rare bottle for wine lovers who think they have tried everything Portugal has to offer.

Tasting notes

Carcavelos is a fortified wine, traditionally made from local grapes such as Galego Dourado and Arinto. Aged Carcavelos is known for its amber colour and notes of dried fruit, toasted nuts, orange peel and caramel, balanced by a fresh acidity on the finish.

Food pairing

Serve it with pastéis de nata, almond tarts, dried fruit and nuts, or a cured sheep's cheese. It is also a beautiful glass on its own after dinner.

About Villa Oeiras

Villa Oeiras makes Carcavelos in Oeiras, at the mouth of the Tagus. The Carcavelos region was demarcated in 1908, but its wine is far older: the Marquis of Pombal made it on his Oeiras estate, and in 1752 King José I sent it to the imperial court in Beijing.
