Vieira de Sousa Fine Tawny Port

€14,00

Vieira de Sousa Fine Tawny is a Portuguese Port wine from the Douro valley, made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and other old-vine grapes by a five-generation family house. It is an approachable, everyday tawny with real age in it, ideal for a first taste of Port or a relaxed glass after dinner.

Tasting notes

Brick red in the glass, with delicate walnut and a hint of hazelnut on the nose. The wine spends 5 to 8 years in large old oak casks before blending, so the sweetness feels fresh and mellow rather than heavy.

Food pairing

Serve it with pastéis de nata, toucinho do céu, almond tarts or a slice of Serra da Estrela cheese. Slightly chilled, it is also a good match for roasted nuts and dried figs.

About Vieira de Sousa

Vieira de Sousa is a family Port house with five generations behind it, now run by sisters Luísa and Maria Vieira de Sousa. The grapes come from the family's own estates in the Douro valley and are still trodden by foot in stone lagares.
