Vieira de Sousa
Vieira de Sousa 50 Year Old Tawny Port
Vieira de Sousa 50 Year Old Tawny Port is a Portuguese aged Tawny Port from the Douro, blended from wines that have spent at least 50 years in oak. It is one of the rarest styles of Port, a bottle for a milestone birthday, a wedding or a moment you want to remember.
Tasting notes
Deep tawny colour with a golden, greenish rim, the sign of great age. The nose is old style yet lively and delicate. On the palate, concentrated coffee and liqueur notes lead to a very long finish with a crisp, clean close.
Food pairing
Serve it with toasted almonds and walnuts, a crème brûlée or pastéis de nata, a fine cigar, or simply on its own, slowly, after dinner.
About Vieira de Sousa
Vieira de Sousa is a family Port house in the Douro, now led by the fifth generation, Luísa and Maria Vieira de Sousa. This Tawny comes from vines over 40 years old on schist, foot trodden in stone lagares, fortified, then aged for decades in French oak casks and vats in the family's Douro lodges.
