Textura da Estrela White
Pickup currently not available
Textura da Estrela White is a Portuguese white wine from the Dão, made mainly from Encruzado with Bical and Cerceal, from old vines on the granite slopes of the Serra da Estrela. It is a textured, saline white that wine merchants compare to fine white Burgundy, at a far friendlier price.
Tasting notes
Citrus, pear, apple, white flowers and almond, with a salty, mineral thread and a rounded texture. Wild yeasts, fermentation in a large wooden foudre and other vessels, and a long rest on the lees give it depth without heavy oak.
Food pairing
Open it with clams and chouriço, grilled white fish, bacalhau com natas, roast chicken or a Serra da Estrela cheese.
