Terrunho d'Alma
Terrunho d'Alma Alvarinho Sparkling
Pickup currently not available
Terrunho d'Alma Espumante is a Portuguese sparkling wine made from Alvarinho in the Vinho Verde region of northern Portugal. Alvarinho is the noble white grape of the Minho, and in bubbles it keeps its citrus snap and its aromatic lift. Open it to start a dinner or to mark a good day.
Tasting notes
Expect a golden colour and fine bubbles. Retailer notes mention biscuit, honey and marmalade on the nose, with a creamy mousse carried by fresh acidity. Alvarinho typically adds citrus peel, stone fruit and a saline edge.
Food pairing
Serve it with oysters or amêijoas à Bulhão Pato, fried pastéis de bacalhau, prawns with garlic, or a plate of presunto and salty cheese. It is also a lovely aperitif on its own.
About Terrunho d'Alma
Terrunho d'Alma is a small label from the Vinho Verde region that works with Alvarinho, the grape most closely tied to the area around Monção and Melgaço. Northern Portugal has a long tradition of Alvarinho sparkling wine.
