Quinta do Perdigão
Quinta do Perdigão Touriga Nacional Red 2016
Pickup currently not available
Quinta do Perdigão Touriga Nacional 2016 is a single-variety Dão red wine from a small organic family estate near Viseu. It has had time in bottle to soften, so you get a Portuguese red with depth and calm, ready to open for a long dinner.
Tasting notes
Expect deep ruby colour and aromas of black plum, fig and a touch of bergamot, followed by chocolate, coffee and tobacco. The tannins are silky and the oak, 12 months in French barrels, sits in the background. Touriga Nacional from the Dão tends to keep a floral lift and fresh acidity, which stops the wine from feeling heavy.
Food pairing
Open it with a roast leg of lamb, a slow-cooked chanfana, grilled entrecôte with garlic, or a plate of aged Serra da Estrela cheese.
About Quinta do Perdigão
