Quinta do Perdigão
Quinta do Perdigão Jaen Red 2018
Quinta do Perdigão Jaen Red 2018 is a Portuguese red wine from the Dão, made entirely from Jaen by Quinta do Perdigão in Silgueiros. Jaen is the same grape as Spain's Mencía, and in the Dão it makes some of the most charming, easy-going reds. A lovely bottle for people who like Pinot Noir or Beaujolais.
Tasting notes
Jaen is known for soft tannins, red fruit such as raspberry and cherry, floral notes and a gentle spice. On the Dão's granite it stays fresh and fine. With several years in bottle, the 2018 adds savoury, earthy tones while keeping its smooth, silky texture.
Food pairing
Try it with roast chicken, grilled pork, mushroom risotto, cod with chickpeas, or a plate of chouriço and bread.
