Quinta do Mouro
Quinta do Mouro Zagaluz Red
Pickup currently not available
Zagaluz is a light, bright Alentejo red wine from Quinta do Mouro, grown around Estremoz. It is the Alentejo red for people who think Alentejo reds are too heavy: translucent, juicy and easy to share.
Tasting notes
For the 2020 vintage the producer described a translucent violet colour and aromas of raspberry, sour cherry, red apple peel and violets. The palate is light, with silky tannins, crisp acidity and a wet stone note. That vintage was fermented with the skins of pressed white grapes and kept 12 months in stainless steel, which explains its freshness.
Food pairing
Serve it with grilled sardines, migas with pork, a tomato and oregano salad, or a board of Portuguese charcuterie.
