Quinta de São Francisco Red

Quinta de São Francisco Red is a DOC Óbidos red wine from Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal, grown in the Lisboa wine region north of the capital. It is an honest, well-made Portuguese red from a historic family company, the kind of bottle you keep on hand for good everyday meals.

Tasting notes

The estate grows red grapes such as Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Aragonez and Syrah. Óbidos reds are shaped by the Atlantic, so expect ripe red and dark fruit with freshness and soft tannins.

Food pairing

Pour it with grilled pork, frango assado, a bitoque, meatballs in tomato sauce or a cheese and charcuterie board.

About Quinta de São Francisco

Quinta de São Francisco belongs to Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal and sits at Outeiro da Cabeça, at the foot of the Serra de Montejunto. Its vineyards grow on steep clay-loam slopes facing east and south, and all the company’s wines are made and bottled there.
