Quinta da Raza
Quinta da Raza Curtimenta Orange Wine
Quinta da Raza Curtimenta is a Portuguese orange wine from the Basto sub-region of Vinho Verde, made from local white grapes left for several weeks on their skins. Curtimenta is the Portuguese word for skin contact. It turns a white wine amber and gives it texture and grip, so this is a white that drinks almost like a light red, at the table.
Tasting notes
Amber in the glass, with dried apricot, orange zest and a subtle note of spice. The palate has bright acidity, a tactile, slightly tannic grip and a dry, lingering finish. Fermented and aged in stainless steel and large neutral vessels, with minimal filtration.
Food pairing
Try it with bacalhau à Brás, grilled chicken piri piri, roast pork with clams, mushroom risotto, or spiced dishes such as a chickpea and chorizo stew.
