Quinta da Murta
Quinta da Murta White
Pickup currently not available
Quinta da Murta White is a Portuguese white wine from Bucelas, just north of Lisbon, made from Arinto, the grape at the heart of this historic appellation. It is a crisp, food-friendly white with real local identity, and one of the best ways to taste what the Lisbon region does with white grapes.
Tasting notes
The estate describes its Bucelas white as fresh, mineral and creamy. Arinto brings citrus, green apple and a firm, mouth-watering acidity, while a few months on the lees with bâtonnage add a soft, rounder texture.
Food pairing
Pour it with grilled sea bass, amêijoas à Bulhão Pato, açorda de marisco, oysters or a fresh goat cheese. It also loves Lisbon's petiscos, such as peixinhos da horta.
About Quinta da Murta
Quinta da Murta is a wine estate in Bucelas, a small appellation about 25 km north of Lisbon whose whites were once shipped to England. The estate labels its wines "The Wine of Shakespeare", a nod to that old English fame.
