Quinta da Murta Red

Quinta da Murta Red is a Portuguese red wine from the Lisbon region, made in Bucelas, just north of the city, from Touriga Nacional and Syrah. Known first for its whites, the estate also makes this light, elegant red for easy dinners, at a friendly price.

Tasting notes

The estate describes its red as light, fruity, fine and well balanced. Touriga Nacional brings floral notes and dark berries, Syrah adds spice, and time in French oak barrels gives a soft frame without heaviness.

Food pairing

Serve it with grilled pork secretos, bifanas, roast chicken, mushroom pasta or a plate of chouriço and cheese.

About Quinta da Murta

Quinta da Murta is a wine estate in Bucelas, a small appellation about 25 km north of Lisbon whose whites were once shipped to England. The estate labels its wines "The Wine of Shakespeare", a nod to that old English fame.
