Poço do Lobo
Poço do Lobo Baga Sparkling
Pickup currently not available
Poço do Lobo Baga is a Bairrada sparkling wine made from Baga, the local red grape, by Caves São João. Bairrada is Portugal's home of espumante, and a sparkling Baga is the most local way to toast with a Portuguese bottle.
Tasting notes
Made from a red grape, sparkling Baga is usually pressed gently to give a pale wine with notes of red berries, citrus and brioche, fine bubbles and the high, crisp acidity that Baga keeps in Bairrada's Atlantic climate.
Food pairing
Do as they do in Bairrada and open it with leitão (roast suckling pig). It also works with fried codfish cakes, oysters, or prawns with garlic.
About Poço do Lobo
Poço do Lobo is the Bairrada estate of Caves São João, a historic house in the region. Its vineyards sit in the heart of Bairrada, between the Atlantic and the Buçaco hills.
