Ninfa
Ninfa Maria Gomes White
Pickup currently not available
Ninfa Maria Gomes is a Portuguese white wine from the Tejo region, north-east of Lisbon, made from Maria Gomes, the grape better known in most of Portugal as Fernão Pires. It is the country's most planted white grape, and here it makes a fragrant, easy white for long lunches and warm evenings.
Tasting notes
Maria Gomes, or Fernão Pires, is known for its aromatic side: citrus, orange blossom, ripe pear and a hint of spice, on a fresh, medium-bodied palate. Expect an open, floral wine rather than a lean, steely one.
Food pairing
Pour it with grilled sea bream, prawns in garlic, chicken with lemon and herbs, or a Thai green curry. It is also a good aperitif with queijo fresco and olives.
