Morgado do Quintão
Morgado do Quintão Clarete Negra Mole Red
Pickup currently not available
Morgado do Quintão Clarete Negra Mole Red is a Portuguese light red wine from Lagoa, in the Algarve, made from 100% Negra Mole grown on old, dry-farmed vines. It is a red for warm evenings: fragrant, medium-bodied and happy with a light chill.
Tasting notes
Clarete is the Portuguese name for a light, bright red. Negra Mole, the historic red grape of the Algarve, gives a deep ruby colour with purple tints, red and black currant, dried black cherry and a spicy finish of lavender, mace and allspice. A short maceration and a slow, cool fermentation in steel keep it fresh and never heavy.
Food pairing
Try it with carne de porco à alentejana, grilled chicken piri-piri, a tuna steak, mushroom dishes or a board of cured ham and cheese.
