Miguel Louro Apelido Red 2021
Pickup currently not available
Miguel Louro Apelido Red 2021 is a Portuguese red wine from Estremoz in the Alentejo, blended from Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Trincadeira and Touriga Nacional. Apelido means surname, and with this range Miguel Louro puts his own name on the family's Estremoz terroir. It is an Alentejo red with freshness and moderate alcohol, far from the jammy cliché.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby. Concentrated black fruit on the nose with a light vegetal touch, then a textured palate with smooth, silky tannins, good freshness and a long finish. Fermented in stainless steel after an extended maceration and bottled 10 months after harvest. 13.5% alcohol.
Food pairing
Perfect with spiced meats, grilled sirloin, migas with pork, or a ripe Alentejo sheep's cheese.
