Menina d'Uva Red
Pickup currently not available
Menina d'Uva Red is a Portuguese natural red wine from the Planalto Mirandês in Trás-os-Montes, made in tiny quantities from old village vineyards. This is a wine from one of the most remote corners of Portugal, close to the Spanish border, where old mixed vineyards have been farmed for generations. Honest, alive and full of place.
Tasting notes
The old vineyards of the Planalto Mirandês are typically planted with a mix of local red and white grapes in the same plot, which gives light, fresh reds with red fruit, herbs and a rustic, earthy edge. As a natural wine it can show a little cloudiness or sediment, which is normal.
Food pairing
Try it with posta mirandesa, the region's famous grilled veal, alheira, roast chicken, or a plate of cured sausages and bread.
About Menina d'Uva
Menina d'Uva is a small natural wine project on the Planalto Mirandês, in the far northeast of Portugal, started in 2017 by a biologist and fermentation engineer who left Paris to return to her parents' homeland. She works seven rented plots of old vines and, with her partner Emanuele, planted 2.5 hectares of her own in 2022.
