Menina d'Uva
Menina d'Uva Ciste Rosé
Pickup currently not available
Menina d'Uva Ciste is a Portuguese natural rosé wine from the Planalto Mirandês in Trás-os-Montes, made in small batches from old village vineyards. The name Ciste evokes the cistus, or rockrose, that grows wild on the hills of the northeast. This is a rosé with character and texture, more for the table than the pool.
Tasting notes
Rosés from the old mixed vineyards of the Planalto Mirandês tend to be fresh and savoury, with red berries, herbs and a dry finish. As a natural wine it may be a little cloudy or carry a light sediment, which is normal. Let it warm slightly in the glass to show more.
Food pairing
Try it with grilled sardines, a tomato and onion salad, rice with chicken, or a plate of petiscos.
About Menina d'Uva
Menina d'Uva is a small natural wine project on the Planalto Mirandês, in the far northeast of Portugal, started in 2017 by a biologist and fermentation engineer who left Paris to return to her parents' homeland. She works seven rented plots of old vines and, with her partner Emanuele, planted 2.5 hectares of her own in 2022.
