Madeira Wine Tasting

Madeira Wine Tasting is a tasting of Madeira wines, the fortified wines of the island of Madeira, at POP, our wine bar in Graça, Lisbon, served with explanations from the team. It is a rare chance to explore one of the most original wines in the world without flying to the island.

What you will taste

A selection of Madeira wines chosen by the team. Madeira is aged in warm conditions, which gives it its famous nutty, toasted character and bright acidity, and it ranges from dry to sweet depending on the grape and style. Each glass is introduced: the style, the grape and how it was aged.

How it works

Book online, then come to the bar at Rua da Senhora do Monte 38C, in Graça. The team serves the tasting with explanations about each glass, where it comes from and how it is made. Opening hours: Sunday to Wednesday 14:00 to 21:00, Thursday to Saturday 14:00 to 22:00. Please tell the team about any allergy or dietary need when you arrive.

About POP

POP is a wine tasting bar and Portuguese gourmet shop at Rua da Senhora do Monte 38C, in Graça, one of Lisbon's oldest and most charming neighbourhoods, a few steps from the Senhora do Monte viewpoint. We pour Portuguese wines and sell cheese, charcuterie, tinned fish and sweets from all over the country.
