M&M Gold Edition Sparkling White

M&M Gold Edition Sparkling White is a Portuguese white espumante from the M&M range of Cave Central da Bairrada, a sparkling wine house in Anadia, in the Bairrada region. Bairrada is the heartland of Portuguese sparkling wine, and this is an easy bottle to open when friends arrive, for a toast, a birthday or a long lunch.

Tasting notes

White espumante from Bairrada is usually fresh and crisp, with citrus, green apple and a touch of brioche, and lively bubbles that clean the palate. Pour it well chilled into a white wine glass rather than a narrow flute so the aromas can open.

Food pairing

The classic match is leitão à Bairrada, the region's crisp roast suckling pig. It is also good with fried snacks such as rissóis and pastéis de bacalhau, oysters and clams, or simply with salted almonds.

About Cave Central da Bairrada

M&M sparkling wines are made by Cave Central da Bairrada in Anadia, a house founded in 1924 by José Ferreira Tavares to make sparkling wine. Since 1977 it has belonged to Américo Matos and his family, who have added table wines, spirits and liqueurs to the range.
