João Tavares de Pina Atinado Encruzado White 2022

Atinado Encruzado 2022 is a Dão white wine made from 100% Encruzado by João Tavares de Pina at Quinta da Boavista, Penalva do Castelo. It shows what the Dão does best with white grapes: fresh, precise and quietly textured, with nothing added for show.

Tasting notes

Expect fresh pear and citrus zest, with subtle floral and mineral notes. The palate is crisp, the acidity lively and the finish clean. The Atinado is aged on its lees in cask and bottled unfiltered, which gives a little extra texture to the fruit.

Food pairing

Try it with grilled sea bream, octopus salad, a creamy cod with chickpeas, or soft Serra da Estrela cheese.

About João Tavares de Pina

João and his wife Luísa took over Quinta da Boavista, an 18th century property with 13 hectares of vines on granite soils, in the 1990s. They farm organically without herbicides, ferment with native yeasts and avoid new oak.
