Insula
Insula Arinto dos Açores White
Pickup currently not available
Insula Arinto dos Açores White is a dry Portuguese white wine from the Azores, made from Arinto dos Açores, the islands' own white grape. Azores wines are among the most sought-after in Portugal right now, and this is a bottle that tastes of the Atlantic.
Tasting notes
Arinto dos Açores is a different grape from mainland Arinto. Grown in basalt close to the sea, it is known for sharp acidity, citrus, and a salty, mineral finish often described as volcanic. Expect lemon, white flowers and a long, saline aftertaste.
Food pairing
Open it with grilled lapas (limpets), cracas, octopus, fresh oysters, or a São Jorge cheese.
About Insula
Insula is an Azores wine label, from the volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic. Azores vineyards are often planted in black basalt rock, inside small stone-walled plots called currais that protect the vines from wind and salt spray.
