Horácio Simões Excellent Moscatel de Setúbal 50 cl

Horácio Simões Excellent Moscatel de Setúbal is a sweet Portuguese fortified wine made from Moscatel Graúdo by Casa Agrícola Horácio Simões, a family winery in Palmela on the Setúbal peninsula. It is the family's premium Moscatel, in a 50 cl bottle that is just right to share after dinner.

Tasting notes

Moscatel de Setúbal is fortified early, which keeps the grape's perfume, and then aged in wood. Expect orange blossom, candied orange, honey and dried apricot, with a warm, rich palate at 17% and a long, sweet finish.

Food pairing

Pair it with pastéis de nata, queijadas de Sintra, a ripe blue cheese, or a slice of orange and almond cake.

About Horácio Simões

Casa Agrícola Horácio Simões was founded in 1910 by José Carvalho Simões and is run today by the third generation of the family. The winery is at Quinta do Anjo, in Palmela, and still works with traditional lagares.
