Herdade do Cebolal
Herdade do Cebolal Caios Arinto White 2013
Pickup currently not available
Herdade do Cebolal Caios Arinto 2013 is a Portuguese white wine from the Alentejo, made from Arinto and released with more than a decade of bottle age. Aged Portuguese whites are one of the wine world's best-kept secrets, and Arinto is the grape that makes them possible. A bottle for a special evening or a curious wine lover.
Tasting notes
Arinto is prized for its high, lasting acidity, which lets it age for many years. With time it typically moves from lemon and green apple towards honey, beeswax, dried citrus peel, nuts and a toasty, savoury depth, while keeping a fresh backbone. Expect a complex, mature white rather than a fruity young one.
Food pairing
Serve it with bacalhau assado, roast chicken with lemon, a seafood rice, or an aged sheep's cheese.
