Guyot Funky Pet Nat Sparkling

Guyot Funky Pet Nat is a Portuguese sparkling wine made by the ancestral method, from the Guyot range of Portugal Boutique Winery. Light, playful and a little wild, as the name promises, it is the bottle to open when friends arrive.

Tasting notes

Pét-nat, short for pétillant naturel, is bottled while it is still fermenting, so the bubbles come from the wine's own sugar. That gives a soft, gentle fizz, a slightly cloudy look and fresh, fruity, sometimes yeasty aromas. Expect something lively and dry rather than polished.

Food pairing

Great with petiscos: fried peixinhos da horta, croquetes, salgadinhos, tinned fish on toast, or a simple bowl of olives and tremoços.

• Serve well chilled at 6-8 °C. Open gently, as the sediment can make it lively. Best finished the day you open it.
